How God Manifests His Love for Us
Life is full of challenges that can break us inside. Sometimes, life may not feel fair at all. We may feel as if our life is in a constant limbo, spiraling down toward rock-bottom. However, regardless of how tough life becomes, there is always someone who will be there for us and love us unconditionally – God. Living in the shadow of God’s love will lift us up from all of our confusion and despair. It will bring us to a life that is abundant of grace and righteousness. The love of God comes in different forms. It is manifested in various powerful ways.
He loves us by calling us
God manifests His love for us by calling us and leading us toward Him. In life, we encounter so many trials and mishaps that can lure us into the darkness of sin. It is easy for us to lose sight of our purpose when we are faced with obstacles and temptations. However, the love of God gets us out of this darkness by calling us into the light of fellowship with Him. No matter how far we go astray, God is always there to find us and pick us up again.
The calling of God is our ultimate guide in life. It leads us to the place we are meant to be in. It enlightens us on our very purpose. In times of crisis and confusion, we only need to listen to that powerful voice inside us that calls us into grace and righteousness. That voice is the calling of God, a manifestation of His great love and promise to be always with us.
“In all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
He loves us by redeeming us
We, humans, are not perfect. As mentioned, we can be easily lured into the darkness of sin because we are not impeccable. We can be tempted and lost, especially when problems and the temptations of sin become too overwhelming. As humans with a sinful nature, we have no power to fulfill the law of God. It is easy for us to be devoured by fear and guilt.
Nonetheless, God redeems us from all of our transgressions. This is how powerful and strong His love for us is. The love of God is shown particularly through Jesus Christ who came into this earth to pay for our sins and save us from the consequences of our rebellion. Through bringing Christ to us, God and His redeeming love frees us from all of our fears and guilt.
“For God so loved the world that He gave the only begotten Son, so that everyone believing in Him should not perish, but should have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
He loves us by glorifying us
Despite our sinful nature, God still sees us worthy to be with Him. He sees our true value as a human, not as a sinner. He has His arms open widely to us – ready to receive us again and again. He is always there to help us make the right choices and enlighten us whenever we are being lured into the darkness of sin.
Indeed, we wrestle with sin throughout our lives. Sometimes, it can become exhausting. However, God promises us that the good work that He begins in us will be completed with His help and mercy. He assures us that with our constant effort to strive for redemption and righteousness despite our imperfections, we will soon be able to reach His kingdom and be in the shadow of God’s love, forever. This promise is a manifestation of the glorifying love that God has for us. This kind of love is the ultimate destination for us.
“See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know Him. Beloved, we are God’s children, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.” (1 John 3:1-2)
